Meet Michelle Apple, our passionate Corporate Dietitian at AVI Fresh. Michelle has been a Registered and Licensed Dietitian for over 12 years and is an active member of both the American Dietetic Association and the Ohio Dietetic Association, exuding enthusiasm in all that she does. A graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Science and Nutrition, her energy level was readily apparent when her softball team made it all the way to the NCAA Softball National Semifinals, and she won Gatorade's National Strength & Conditioning Award in 1994!

Michelle's role as our Corporate Dietician is varied, but what she loves to do best is visit our college campuses to spread the word about nutrition and healthy eating practices to students, faculty and staff. Usually once a month – if not more – you'll find Michelle on campus performing a variety of informational and educational endeavors.

She partners with College and University healthcare professionals, nurses, professors, coaches, Human Resources staffs, organizations and student groups to find out what kind of diet and nutrition programs are already in place and strategize with them on how to dove-tail the resources of AVI Fresh to help them improve their efforts and results.

nutrition is everything

Michelle has an arsenal of informational tools at her disposal to bring to your campus community, including our nutriSOURCE™ program with it's wealth of material in print and online, but what she loves best is one-on-one interaction with the students.

She regularly conducts "Lunch & Learn" sessions, where she can sit with students in a relaxing setting and discuss dietary advice and the latest advancements in nutritional science. Michelle is available to meet with any students personally (especially freshman) who may be having issues with eating disorders, allergies, weight loss (Michelle is Certified in Adult Weight Management by the ADA) or just want to know how to eat healthier. She will even put together a personalized program for each individual if they would like.

She works with Athletic Departments to address specific dietary needs of each program and suggests healthy solutions for coaches to employ for their teams – working with the AVI Fresh Culinary Team – to make sure they are getting the proper nutrition to perform up to their optimum level.

nutriWELL

Michelle – in addition to our over 40 Registered Dietitians employed by AVI Fresh at the Cleveland Clinic and other healthcare facilities – actively participate in on-going continuing education programs through the American Dietetic Association.

So when you see an enthusiastic, energetic woman on campus expounding upon the healthy benefits of Super Grains, that would likely be Michelle! Be sure to say hello!
